Where has civility gone? R ecently I have been wondering about what makes people express themselves, so aggressively on social media. It is as if normal calm dialogue is not used any longer. Issues are either black or white. There is no grey anymore. P ersonally I think, that not being able to find common ground on even the simplest of issues, breaks up friendships and loyalties that in the age before this new media did not form any kind of conflict. If it did, it was settled face to face, which softened the argumentation. I t seems that people who know they will not be held accountable for what they said, have a blank check to say anything they want and they do so with gusto. A re we really so detached from the behavior, most of us were taught as children, that all civility has gone out the window? I myself notice that I react to people questioning my line of reasoning more aggressively than ten years ago. Has this long distance discussion affected everyone?...
